Welcome to Episode #95 of the Blue-in-Green:PODCAST which sees Imran & La Molly secure time with singer, songwriter, producer and DJ, Carol C.
Perhaps most notably serving as the lead vocalist and co-founder of Si*Sé - the New York-based band were revered for their unique ability to effortlessly present their music as an amalgamation and fusion of various styles from hip-hop, dub, Latin rhythms and down-tempo electronica. With two full-length releases to their name - 'Si*Sé' (2001) and 'More Shine' (2005) - along two accompanying EPs, Si*Sé had amassed a devoted following due to their progressive and visionary approach to music-making.
Carrying those exciting elements into her subsequent projects, Carol's awesome résumé boasts collaborations with a dynamic selection of talent including Gitkin, Atropolis, Nickodemus and finds her currently performing and recording with the Pimps of Joytime. Produced alongside Justin Filmer and mastered by Bob Power, Carol C's debut solo outing came in the form of 'Seven' in 2019 and once again sees the indelible artist redefine expectations through a scintillating seven-track selection.
With great excitement, we have the opportunity to sit down with Carol C to discuss 'Seven', her time with Si*Sé and the fact their debut album reaches the milestone of turning 20 next month, the music-making process and we delve in to many of her incredible successes across a glittering career.
